As well as offering social tennis, we offer a number of options for competitive tennis. We run a number of competitions throughout the year, catering for all standards of players. We run box leagues for juniors and adults, have internal singles and doubles knockout competitions, compete in the Surrey Tennis leagues, participate in a local clubs competition (the Millennium Cup) and run Open tournaments with entry through the LTA.

Information on upcoming competitions will be posted here and any Open competitions we run will be listed on the LTA’s website.

Any member interested in playing for one of the Wigmore teams should talk to our Head Coaches, Joe & Scott, who will be able to advise which team squad would be best for them. Our Match Secretary is DAVID KNIPE.

RULES
By entering Wigmore internal club competitions you undertake to:
1. Play opponents within the play-by period specified on the draw
2. Complete any match you begin unless prevented from doing so by injury or illness.
3. Treat your opponent with respect and act in a sportsmanlike way on and off court. This includes refraining from unkind comments, tantrums and foul language. (See "Wigmore Policies" on the club web site for a full code of practice)
4. Be pro-active in arranging matches and accompany any refusal of playing dates with realistic alternative proposals. Consider using the phone if email, text and messaging exchanges become complicated. Whatsapp groups are also an effective match arranging tool.
5. Be aware your opponent may be a junior, and that you may be dealing with a parent when arranging matches.
6. Tell the match secretary (wigmoreboxresults@gmail.com) and your opponents promptly if you plan to concede a match and/or pull out of the competition.
7. Tell the match secretary promptly if you think an opponent has broken any of the above rules.
8. Play all contests as the best of three tie-break sets with a first-to-10 point championship tie break in place of a third set.
