Wigmore's response to Coronavirus (Covid-19) & the AGM
All planned social events at the club have been put on hold for the foreseeable future. There will be no organised social tennis but courts will remain booked out if you wish to organise some friendly doubles (one set rule will remain in place!). While we are currently allowing members to use the toilet and hand washing facilities, the rest of the clubhouse is out of use. Please do not use the changing rooms or congregate in the clubhouse - keep a safe 2m distance at all times at the club. With the exception of using the floodlight machine, the kitchen will be out of bounds for coaches, members and guests. The bar is closed. The booking console has been turned off and we have removed the need to log-in for your court bookings.
We will be monitoring the situation and advice from Surrey Tennis, LTA and the Government, but for the time being the courts remain open for members to use.
The group coaching programme has been cancelled, but private coaching will continue to be available to members. Please contact Head Coaches Joe&Scott Ltd for more information.
We will update members if matches, leagues and plans for the summer tournament have to change due to the Coronavirus.
We are very lucky tennis isn't a contact sport and we get to play it in the fresh air. This allows us to practice without being restricted indoors and in close spaces.
We ask members to be sensible in these unprecedented times, to stay away from the club and isolate if you are experiencing any flu or cold symptoms, to follow health and hygiene recommendations, such as washing hands before and after coming on to court and not to shake hands after a match (yes we know it’s not tennis but needs must). We want to be able to play and enjoy tennis for as long as we can.
The health, safety and well being of our members and our coaches are our utmost priorities, and we would like to thank you, our Wigmore family, for your ongoing support and wish you well during these unprecedented times.
2020 AGM
We will hold the AGM in the clubouse at 4pm on 28th March but it is likely that only a few committee members will be there to run it. We invite all adult members to complete the proxy forms and vote on the budget and plans for 2020. Further information and details on how to submit your proxies will be made available shortly on the members only area. Please look out for a newsletter and e-mail with more detailed information on the AGM, links to the Trustees Report, draft 2019 accounts and how to join the AGM remotely.
