Finals Day … the much-awaited climax of the Summer Tournament where a Wimbledon-like atmosphere come to Wigmore. Our clubs biggest and most hotly contested fixtures are played out out on court for all to see with BBQ, and drinks on the terrace throughout the day. What better way to spend a summer Saturday?

Social tennis sessions are a great time to come down and meet other members, and for one Wednesday every month we do supper - volunteers from the club cook dinner!  This month cooking up an Argentinian Social feast is the wonderful Steve and Manuel who hail from the Southern Americas, a Social you are not going to want to miss…

Join us for our first ever Box League Finals Day. Throughout the year many of our members take part in the numerous box leagues, with singles matches played throughout the winter months. This special event will mark the culmination of the winter leagues with matches taking place between the 1st and 2nd ranked in every box, so see who will be crowned winner of each box league, and of course the overall champion. This is a great opportunity to come down and celebrate everything that is great about Wigmore - tennis at all levels and what will sure to be some highly competitive matches. The games will be played between 12-5pm (order of play nearer the time) with social tennis (5-7pm) and then celebrations in the club house after. The bar will be open throughout so come on down to support your members, no ticket required.

Your chance to hear about (and give your feedback) on the plans for Wigmore as we progress into 2023. This will be hosted by the Wigmore Committee in the clubhouse and the bar will be open throughout.

Wigmore’s most sociable tennis event, where the emphasis is on fun, meeting fellow members, and not the accuracy of your first serve. At 7pm, we will start a fun tennis tournament run by our coaches, very suitable for any ability. It won’t be our usual American doubles format, something a bit different… and that’s all we’re saying for now. Players will be into teams and will be out on court racking up the points, but with the bar open throughout, they’ll be ample opportunity for a drink as the evening goes on. At 9pm our tournament winner will be crowned, and we will sit back in the clubhouse for takeaway (not included in price) and drinks. If you want to bring your own food or eat beforehand please do. The bar will be open from 6.30pm so head down for a pre-drink ready for a prompt 7pm start on court!

Inviting existing and new players to come down for the Wigmore team trials!

The trials will happen between 3pm-6pm. Anyone interested in playing for the women's, men's or mixed doubles teams please come down and play. This is for new players and existing players and as many captains as possible will be there. Afterwards -for those that can stay, - we’ll have a drink together at the bar- a great opportunity to mix with fellow Wigmore members & teams!

A Very British Wigmore Tournament

No ticket required. Just come down on the day.

To celebrate the Jubilee weekend, we will be taking the royals for inspiration and holding a King and Queen of the court tournament. In keeping with another very British tradition, we encourage to bring your picnics to enjoy on the terrace, and the bar will be open, with Pimms on the menu!

We encourage you to "buddy" up with friends and bring a picnic down to the club to share. The bar will be open throughout the day where you can buy your usual tipple. Head down from 11.30am to enjoy your picnic before the tennis tournament starts.

The tennis format will be Queen of the court and promises to be a lot of fun! The tennis will take place between 2pm and 6pm. The tennis is only open to adults and those juniors who can play adult matches.

Our neighbours from Becmead Avenue will be joining us on the day so the club will be busier than usual.

Join us for a fun afternoon of tennis with your fellow members! Our coaching staff will run a Canadian Doubles Tournament - 3 people on court at a time so a chance to showcase both your doubles and singles game. All abilities welcome. Of course the bar will be open! This event is free to members, and no booking required, just turn up on the day.

This is no normal Saturday social. This is a turbo-charged Super Saturday as we relaunch Saturday Social on the lead up to summer.

ALL courts will booked out for this, the place will be buzzing, with the bar will open throughout. Fast 4s Social tennis will be going on from 2-6pm with no pressure at all - if you want to stop for a Super Saturday cider then go for it. If you want to catch the TV in the clubhouse, why not. If you want an interval of table tennis in the clubhouse then be our guest. Of if you want the full four hours on court alongside your members of fun doubles then go for your life. A coach will be there to organise people onto courts, but this wont be over organised, this is about having an enjoyable afternoon down at Wigmore, whatever that looks like for you. And the one thing we can guarantee is that you’ll meet some great people and take part in a lot of no-pressure tennis!
